Our worship at St Andrew’s reflects the diversity of our church community, which includes people of all ages and backgrounds. Our Sunday worship follows a deliberate pattern across each month – combing depth and tradition, music and silence, formal and informal. We believe worship can be fun and creative as well as beautiful and meaningful. We also believe that inter-generational worship is a gift to the church – so children and youth are seen, heard, and included as fellow learners.

On Sundays we have regular services at 8am and 10am. Both services are in church and also livestreamed – links to join these services online can be found on the home page.

Each week our 8 am Sunday service is a quiet Holy Communion using the traditional words of the Book of Common Prayer.

Our 10 am service changes throughout the month and regularly follows this pattern:

1st Sunday of the Month – Family service, a shorter, less formal service (35-40 minutes), ending with refreshments in church. This is then followed by a short Communion at about 11:15 for those wanting to stay or join later.

2nd Sunday of the Month – Sung Eucharist, a longer Communion service in church with choral music led by St Andrew’s singers. At the same time as Sung Eucharist, groups for ages 0-18 run in rooms in St Andrew’s Hall, with some returning for Communion.

3rd and 5th Sundays of the Month (and most school holidays) – All-Age Communion, a service where worship is a blend of the traditional and contemporary with an interactive talk.

4th Sundays of the Month – Parish Communion, a traditional service in church with hymns and a thoughtful sermon. At the same time as Parish Communion, Cafe Church, an informal and creative service, is held in St Andrew’s Hall.

There is currently also an evening service once or twice a month at 5.30pm in church. These services also vary in style throughout the year. For this month’s evening services, and any changes to our regular monthly pattern, see the Chesterton Chimes (located near the bottom of the home page).
