For All Generations Weekend: 16-17 May

Coming soon – a weekend full of events linked to the PCC vision for St Andrew’s to be a church For All Generations. It is a weekend to mark our shared life and priorities as a church, and an opportunity to learn more about our vision and plans for the years ahead.

Saturday 16 May

On Saturday from 2 – 4 pm there will be a Singing and Music Workshop at St Andrew’s Hall. This is your opportunity to come and sing together (whatever your music experience!) as we learn joyful songs for singing in our worship on Sunday morning. Our time together will include refreshments.

The Music Workshop will be followed at 6 pm by an Eco Church Film and Discussion Evening in St Andrew’s Hall. The evening will begin with the film People’s Emergency Briefing (PG) – a public information film about the climate and nature crisis currently being screened across the country. We will then take some time together to share our feelings and responses to the film and explore our potential actions as households and as a community.

Sunday 17 May

Sunday begins with our 8 am Prayer Book Communion in church.

Our 10 am All-Age Communion in church will be led by our youth group. Included in the service will be the sharing of music from our Saturday Singing and Music Workshop.

Following our 10 am service is the Annual Church Meeting at 11:45 am. We will gather in St Andrew’s Hall, celebrate the year past, learn more about the PCC vision for us to be a Church For All Generations, and elect wardens and new members of our church council. The meeting will be followed by a bring and share lunch to which all are welcome.

Our weekend will be drawn to a close with a Contemplative Evening Prayer service in the church’s chancel with a Creation-themed service of prayers, scripture and poetry readings, and reflection on the care of the Creator and Creation.
