In September, St Andrew’s will be marking the United Nations International Year of Biodiversity with a short series of services on the theme of Creation Flourishing.
There will also be a special evening in St Andrew’s Hall on Wednesday 8 September at 7.30pm entitled Antarctica, climate-change and you. Our speaker will be Jonathan Shanklin who, when he’s not ringing the bells at St Andrew’s, works for the British Antarctic Survey in the Meteorological and Ozone Monitoring Unit. If you’ve heard of the hole in the ozone layer, then it may interest you to know that it was Jonathan who discovered it back in the early 1980s! So he knows what he is talking about…
