We’re looking for a Youth Worker!
St Andrew’s Chesterton is seeking to employ a part-time Youth Worker (up to 15 hours per week) to:
- support, encourage and disciple our young people in their Christian faith and life;
- enable them and others to flourish as valued members of our church body; and
- grow our volunteer youth team with these same aims.
This post is for between 1 and 3 years.
St Andrew’s has a history of investment in creative, thoughtful, and relational youth and children’s work. We’re seeking a part-time Youth Worker to coordinate and develop our groups for young people aged 11-18, including weekly, fortnightly and monthly activities and initiatives which combine fun, friendship, and faith among a current cohort of 10-15 young people connected to St Andrew’s.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone seeking to follow a calling to ministry and mission with young people in Cambridge. St Andrew’s is a caring and supportive Christian community that values depth and openness in our faith, prayer and mission. Our church body includes people with diverse faith journeys representing much of the variety of belief and practice within the Church of England.
Hours: Up to 15 hours per week
Duration of post: 1-3 years
Salary: £9,600-11,200 per annum for 15 hrs/week (£24,000-£28,000 FT equivalent) depending on experience and qualifications, with the opportunity to join employer pension scheme
Start date: To be agreed, but potentially late-Spring/ Summer 2023
